Gender Sensitization Workshop with National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM) in various district's of Madhya Pradesh.

SKY SOCIAL with National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM), Conducted various workshops in different districts of Madhya Pradesh including Raisen, Vidisha, Itarsi and Hoshangabad. Overall around 500 SHG women actively participated in the workshop, understanding the various concepts around gender discrimination and it resulting in various forms of violence against women. We also made women aware about their legal rights and various acts like Domestic Violence Act (2005), Sexual Harassment at workplace Act (2013) and One Stop Centres. The workshops have helped SHG women to change the gender dynamics of power within a family and ultimately society at large.


International Girl Child day Celebration 2019

Sky Social with UNICEF celebrated International Girl Child day on 10th and 11th October 2019. They organized an awareness campaign for rights of girl child and women at Shahpura, Bhopal on 10th September. On 11th they organized an event with UNICEF and Radio Mirchi “Beti ki Awaaz” to give voice to girls from Madhya Pradesh who have broken various social norms.


Youth4Children Camp with UNICEF

Sky Social with UNICEF organized a two - day residential camp Youth4Children Camp at Sehore, MP near Jamoniya Tank Village on 21st and 22nd October 2019. Youth4Children program aims to sensitize young people on the issues related to children at the same time to identify advocates for Child Rights. Through this program youth got an opportunity to understand and learn about child rights. The participants were youth who are influencers, bloggers, photographers, artist, social media enthusiasts’ and young entrepreneurs etc., who used their social media platforms to promote child rights. The camp was inaugurated by Mr. Ajay Gupta, District Collector, Sehore, Mr. Michael Juma, UNICEF Chief, MP, Mr. Pankaj Chaturvedi, Motivational Speaker, Mr. Pawan Deolia, Senior Journalist and Ms. Rachna Bhudolia, District Head Women and Child Department.


Child Rights Week Celebration, Eradicating Child Marriage with UNICEF

On 13th November 2019, the celebration of international child rights week began. Sky Social with UNICEF was a part of an event which was about eradicating child marriage. The event was organized at Ankur School, Bhopal. The event started with a display of dolls in which 32% of them were married signifying that even today 32% of the children in India still gets married before the legal age of marriage. The guests of the event were Nirmala Buch (President, CRO), Michael Juma (Senior representative of UNICEF, MP) and Anil Gulati (Communication Specialist, UNICEF, MP). There were various youth volunteers also who were a part of this event. All the guests along with volunteers took a pledge that they will try their best to stop child marriages in India by doing a candlelight vigil inside the school campus.


Child Rights Week Celebration, Wall Painting and Workshop with UNICEF

Sky Social with UNICEF celebrated the international child rights week on 16th November 2019 at Bawadiya Kalan Government School, Bhopal. Youth volunteers also took part in this celebration. The event started with a fun activity with school children where they enjoyed with youth volunteers followed by a work shop on child rights and a rights-based activity called voice of children which was also organized by youth volunteers. Some youth volunteers with school children also did wall painting in the school premises with messages on child rights. There was an exhibition displayed consisting pictures taken by our youth participants at youth4children camp.


Child Rights Week Celebration, Poster Making and Photography Competition with UNICEF

On 18th November, five youth participants of Makhanlal University with Sky Social organized a poster making competition and photography competition on child rights. The participants of the competition covered various topics like child labor, right to play, right to participation, right to privacy and right to share their opinions.


World Children’s Day Celebration 2019

On 19th and 20th October 2019, Raja Bhoj Setu bridge, Minto Hall, VIP road and Bhopal gate went blue as we celebrated world children’s day, a campaign by UNICEF supported by Sky Social. This campaign ended with the first time ever building projection on child rights at Habibganj station followed by an exhibition of the pictures taken by our youth participants at youth4children camp.


Stakeholder Training under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Women and Child Development Department

SKY SOCIAL with Ministry of Women and Child Development (WCD), Sehore, conducted Stakeholder Training on 19th and 20th February 2020 with School Management Committee (SMC) members in Sehore and Astha under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao. Around 450 School Management Committee members were a part of these training sessions. The aim of this training was to build capacities of school principals, teachers and parents to better implement the services under this program. Through these trainings we address the root causes of gender discrimination and work on behavioural change of the society.


Gender Sensitization workshop with NULM

On 27th February 2020, Sky Social conducted another gender sensitization workshop with National Urban Livelihood Mission in Raisen. 50 SHG women and young girls were a part of this workshop. The objective of these workshops is to make these women and girls realize that they have a voice and they can raise it for ensuring their rights and also empower their community by creating awareness.



Period No More Limits Campaign and Activities with Youth ki Awaaz

Sky Social is a YOUTH KI AWAZ Action Network Fellow. Through the advocacy campaign ‘Period No More Limits’ we are aiming to change people’s mindset around menstruation and make menstrual products accessible to everyone. This is an initiative to bridge the implementation gaps of Menstrual Hygiene Scheme under Rashtriya Kishore Swasthya Karyakram (RKSK) so that every girl has easy access to sanitary products and they are all well aware about menstruation. Through this campaign we want to overcome the roadblocks that are limiting girls. Menstrual education is a really important factor that empowers girls. Period No More Limits is a campaign to create awareness, work on accessibility, availability, and reach 5000 adolescent girls from government schools in rural Bhopal by empowering and educating SHG women on Menstrual Health Management (MHM).
