who we are

Empowering Communities Against GBV is a dedicated initiative by Sky Social aimed at addressing gender-based violence (GBV) through gender sensitization and capacity-building workshops. Recognizing the deep-rooted gender inequality in India, this program emphasizes empowering women and sensitizing stakeholders to promote equality, non-discrimination, and social change.

GENDER SENSITIZATION AND SHG EMPOWERMENT

Sky Social has actively collaborated with the National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM) to conduct gender sensitization workshops across districts like Raisen, Vidisha, Itarsi, and Hoshangabad in Madhya Pradesh. Through these sessions, we engaged over 800 SHG women directly, impacting an additional 1,000 women indirectly. By working with Self-Help Groups (SHGs), we empower women to challenge gender biases, strengthen their decision-making skills, and drive collective change. SHG women are equipped to become leaders within their communities, playing a vital role in raising awareness about gender discrimination, gender-based violence, and women's legal rights.

By integrating right-based approaches and self-reflective activities, shg women gain
insights into how social norms limit their empowerment and learn strategies to challenge these norms.
IMPACT AND CHANGE
Through this initiative, sky social is fostering a shift in gender dynamics within families and communities.
By equipping shg women with the tools to advocate for their rights and pursue economic opportunities, we are empowering them to become agents of change-driving lasting social transformation and reducing the prevalence of gender-based violence.
