At Sky Social, we believe that empowering stakeholders is key to achieving sustainable change in gender equality. Our targeted training programs focus on equipping key influencers like frontline workers, healthcare professionals, and educators with the knowledge and tools to address gender-based discrimination and violence effectively.
Sky Social’s Gender Sensitization Workshops for medical professionals emphasize the role of gender in healthcare delivery. By educating doctors, nurses, and ANMs on gender-sensitive practices, we enable them to better understand the risks and threats faced by victims of violence. These sessions also provide insights on legal frameworks such as the Domestic Violence Act and the Sexual Harassment at Workplace Act, ensuring medical professionals can connect survivors with appropriate support services like One Stop Centres.
Our training programs with Anganwadi supervisors and workers focus on improving service delivery, particularly in cases of violence against women. These sessions raise awareness about gender-based discrimination and violence, while also educating participants about key legal provisions, helpline numbers, and community support systems. By sensitizing Anganwadi workers, we enable them to become stronger advocates for women's rights in their communities.
To address high dropout rates among girls, Sky Social conducted specialized training for School Management Committee (SMC) members under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme. We trained 450 SMC members in districts like Sehore and Astha, equipping them with strategies to address gender bias, improve school environments, and foster supportive learning spaces for girls. Post-training, SMC members actively worked to reduce discriminatory behavior and promote girls’ education.
Sky Social has worked extensively with stakeholders from the Women and Child Development Department, Health Department, and Rural Development Department to ensure improved implementation of government schemes like ICDS, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, and the Menstrual Hygiene Scheme. Our collaboration focuses on building capacity, promoting gender equality, and fostering inclusive leadership within these departments.
Through these efforts, Sky Social is strengthening community-based networks to challenge harmful gender norms, promote equality, and empower marginalized groups. We have reached over 2000 stakeholders through these trainings and capacity building directly and further these stakeholders has reached out to more than 5000 community members creating a ripple effect of our initiative.
