Sky Social, in partnership with the SBI Bhopal Circle CSR Initiative, successfully implemented a large-scale Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management (MHM) project across 35 districts in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. This impactful initiative aimed to address period poverty, promote sustainable menstrual practices, and reduce school dropout rates among adolescent girls.

Collaborations and Support

This initiative was made possible through key partnerships and collective efforts:


  • 1) SBI Bhopal Circle CSR Initiative: Financial support and strategic coordination.
  • 2) Tribal Departments of MP & CG: Identification of schools and hostels in underserved regions.
  • 3) Pee Safe: Providing high-quality reusable sanitary pads with two regular pads and one overnight pad per kit.
  • 4) UNICEF: Collaborative support in enhancing program modules and strengthening outreach strategies.

Geographical Reach and Impact

The project reached over 17,000 tribal girls across 35 districts:


  • 1) Madhya Pradesh: Impacted 12,000 girls in 25 districts.
  • 2) Chhattisgarh: Impacted 5,000 girls in 10 districts.

The distribution areas in Madhya Pradesh were divided into four key regions for streamlined execution:

In Chhattisgarh, the project covered: Bilaspur, Korba, Ambikapur, Raigarh, Sarangarh, Baloda Bazar, Raipur, Durg, Kanker, and Jagdalpur.

Workshop Execution and Key Focus Areas

Our dedicated team of 14 trainers and experts conducted interactive workshops designed to create a
safe and supportive environment for discussing menstrual health. The workshops covered:

Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) – Understanding the menstrual cycle, hygiene practices, and safe product usage.

Sustainable Menstrual Products – Promoting reusable pads as an eco-friendly and cost-effective solution.

Myths and Taboos – Breaking social stigmas around menstruation to encourage open discussions.

Emotional Well-being and Support Systems – Educating participants about available resources such as One Stop Centers and healthcare facilities.

In addition, teachers and school management were trained to ensure continuity of knowledge
and support post-workshop.

Distribution of Reusable Pads

Distributed Pee Safe reusable sanitary kits to all participating girls, ensuring access to safe menstrual products.
Coordinated with SBI's Regional Branch Offices (RBOs) to manage distribution efficiently across remote tribal regions.

Outcome and Impact

This initiative created meaningful change by:

  • Empowering girls with knowledge and access to essential menstrual products, fostering confidence and well-being.
  • Equipping teachers and volunteers to sustain menstrual health awareness beyond the program’s immediate implementation.
